Noam Shemel
Noam Shemel, principal of Kano Real Estate Investors, grew up in Great Neck and currently resides in Roslyn Harbor. Shemel is a restaurant owner and real estate developer, possessing an extensive background in property management in historic districts in Manhattan. He has restored numerous historic properties in New York City, and has substantial experience and understanding of landmark regulations and historic preservation law.
In 2025, Shemel opened Okaru, a new modern Japanese restaurant located in a historic building dating to 1890 on Old Northern Blvd. in downtown Roslyn, He is also a dedicated civic leader and passionate participant in local initiatives. In addition to his activities with the Roslyn Landmark Society, he serves on the Board of the Roslyn Chamber of Commerce as Vice-President of Communications, providing membership and marketing oversight.
